If Josh has his suit jacket on. His sleeves aren't rolled up.. nothing will happen terrible weather wise. Congratulations, Josh. You are the best.

The rumor of a large snowstom started by people reading the farmers almanac.

Wonder if school closures will happen?

absolutely not. My child does not need to be subjected to this. She is in the top 5% of her class as it is. We have plenty of churches available in this state if a parent feels more religious instruction is needed.

The Bible needs to be put into schools. That is what’s wrong these days God has been taken out of our schools.

How about teach them some basic life skills? Money management, taxes, how interest rates work. You know, stuff that is useful.

It’s a great idea,, putting GOD back in school will help with issues such as low self esteem, and suicidal issues that kids now have today. I have never seen so many school shootings in my life and it began with columbine, having prayer groups in school is a great thing especially for kids who may need someone whom is a Christian to talk about their problems, When I was a kid things like school shootings, movie theatre shootings, or whatever was unheard of, but when you take God out of everything then we as a nation suffer,, Thank goodness for Trump, he has done so many good things so far and I hope it continues

Absolutely should be allowed! When the Bible and prayer were taken out of schools, violence began to filter into our school systems. It gets worse every day! The only hope is God to be put back where He belongs!

Maybe a course on what "elective" means would be a better idea, since there seems to be a plethora of folks who have no idea. Lol.

Amen! Bring it on! I support the Bible being brought into schools! God created every single one of us.... there is nothing wrong with kids worshipping our creator! 🙌🏻

Will it be Catholic? Church of Latter Day Saints? Jehovahs Witness? Probably Baptist but what denomination? American, Freewill, southern? What version of the Bible will be used. King James, NIV, Old or New Testament. Snake handling would be cool in school. This bill has a lot of decisions to work out.

Christianity isn’t the only religion. There are many others, and to force one is wrong. I feel like the separation of church and state should be just that. Not bashing those beliefs, but if you must pray at school, please feel free to, but don’t force it.

I'm getting two different versions of this story one it is an elective, the other a requirement. Which is it? 😐 Ahhh the beauty and accuracy of factual, truthful journalism in West Virginia! 😉 That being said, either all or nothing. Stop picking and choosing.

I absolutely approve, it’s a elective and in turn it’s a choice. Just like when we had a choice for cooking class and wood Shop. And even band or choir.

And so what about the classes on the Qur'an? Or the Tripitaka? Or what if the teacher tasked with this class is an Atheist? This WILL open a can of worms be that WV cannot afford to open.

I say no, not because I don't believe in the Bible but because I feel it's the parents responsibility to teach there child there religious beliefs. People have different beliefs even in the same religion and I for one would not want my child taught something that went against our beliefs. Parents are the ones who should teach there children there religion.... This way you know what is being taught. So no mix ups....

Sure...as long as they also require the Torah, Qur'an, and any and all other religious books. Otherwise, no because that's preference to Christianity and it is unconstitutional.

The Bible teaches morals like hard work ,honesty, integrity. I can't think of a better set of work ethics. How does this not apply to school, history, and society?

Yes, a lot of kids don't get to go to church to learn about the Bible. A bible elective class should be offered.

I think it should be offered as an elective. You shouldn’t be required.. if this passes, then who’s to say Satanism class won’t become a requirement too...

Oh, WSAZ. Your headline says "require" like every student would be made to take the class, when even your article clearly states it's an elective. Kids aren't going to "required" to take the class. Baiting. Baiting. Baiting.

The Bible is a tremendous part of history and something that I see referenced too almost every day. Just by studying the Bible doesn’t mean you have to be religious, it would provide a great way to study history in a different way then what is taught now. I think being an elective and/or counting as a history credit would be a good medium.

I would want my child taught the Bible in Church by Christians. Not in a secular setting by just any teacher.

Gosh, it's sure be nice to have a place where kids can learn all about the Bible and.... oh, wait... there is. It's called A CHURCH. Maybe it might be best if we focused more on getting folks back in there before requiring taxpayer money be used to cover religious teaching.

Next they will be forced to teach that the world is flat, and and we magically popped out of nowhere 6000 years ago, even though that just makes us all incest... i see what you did there west Virginia.

Hell no, keep your religious story book out of classrooms. Let children form their own opinions. Don’t force religion on everyone.

My thoughts: The constitution will not allow this, therefore it's pointless and a distraction technique. Ask your law makers to focus on crime and drugs before challenging the United States Constitution.

Are you folks who are screaming it will be offered as an elective skipping the part where schools will be REQUIRED to offer it? Obviously we need more focus on reading comprehension skills.
